Rebecca James Joins Prospa as Chief Marketing & Enterprise Officer

Prospa , a leading online lender catering to Australian SMEs, has appointed Rebecca James as its new Chief Marketing and Enterprise Officer. Prospa said the move was indicative of platform growth and the need to boost its executive bench. Prospa has been recognized as the Best Fintech Place to Work in the inaugural 2017 Finnie Awards. Co-CEOs Beau Bertoli and Greg Moshal were also named joint Fintech Leader of the Year.

James was previously at ME Bank, where as CMO she led the transformation of the ME brand, simplifying the product offering and step-changing customer experience. ME Bank saw its customer base increase by 40% during her tenure. Prospa explains that James helped to transform the bank into a digitally led business. Prior to ME Bank, Rebecca held the position of managing director at CX agency, Lavender, for seven years. In this role, she covered a broad range of clients such as Westpac, BT Financial Group, Ikea, Microsoft, Coles, Telstra and Qantas.

Beau Bertoli, co-CEO of Prospa, said they were delighted to have James on their team;

“She brings rich and varied experience in brand, marketing and partnership strategies that will help catapult Prospa to exciting new heights. ”

James commented on her appointment saying Prospa is making a huge difference for small business owners all over Australia.

“The calibre of the people I’ll be working with makes me think this will be an incredible opportunity for me,” stated James.  “Prospa has already built an amazing proposition that’s attracted over 12,000 small businesses and I’m excited to be joining the team to help step change growth.”
