Via Folio Helps Alternative Investing Platforms Manage Funds & Investors

Via Folio is out with a statement on their services that help non-traditional issuers manage both assets and investors. Via Folio provides a vital bridge between issuers in newer securities like Regulation A+, as created by the JOBS Act. Reg A+ has seen growing utilization by smaller companies seeking to raise capital online in crowdfunded offerings that allow both accredited and non-accredited investors to participate. Via Folio also can provide services for Reg D issuers and non-listed REITs.

“Operators of non-exchange-traded debt and equity offering platforms have two challenges: creating a robust, scalable marketplace and building long-term client relationships,” said Blaine McLaughlin, COO of VIA Folio. “VIA Folio’s all-in-one, online and API-driven offering process, custody and brokerage services solve this. We make it possible for these platforms, and investment bankers considering starting platforms, to list their offerings. We also provide individual investors, RIAs, brokers, funds and family offices with a trusted and familiar way to invest in, and hold such offerings.”

Via Folio has quickly moved into the alternative finance space providing online investors access to accounts that hold these securities. Additionally, Via Folio provides important record keeping, security transfers and brokerage account services that are needed by alternative finance platforms.

The benefits that alternative investing platforms gain from working with VIA Folio include: Via Folio also can provide the benefit of SIPC and FDIC insurance coverage on securities and deposits through Folio’s cash sweep program.

Some of the emerging alternative finance platforms working with Via Folio include; BANQ, Boustead Securities (the company that recently acquired FlashFunders), Cambria Capital and ALTZ Investment Strategies.

“We are currently processing several offers, such as the Chicken Soup for the Soul Entertainment Reg A+ IPO and several Reg A+ and Reg D real estate securities. We also recently processed the closing for the Myomo Reg A+ IPO,” McLaughlin said. “We are pleased to offer services not available elsewhere, such as brokerage accounts that enable trading in unlisted, soon-to-be-listed and listed securities.”
