SyndicateRoom, a UK-based online investment platform, has announced its first female founder-focused fund offering.
According to the company, the Angel Academe EIS Fund I – is the UK’s first EIS fund specifically focused on investing in female-founded tech businesses.
EIS or Enterprise Investment Scheme is a tax program that provides significant tax benefits for investors, such as the potential for zero capital gains taxes.
To participate in the fund, you must invest a minimum of £10,000 and multiples of £10,000 after the first commitment. The initial target is to raise £1.2 million.
The company aims to generate a 3X return after ten years with a portfolio of seven to ten EIS-qualified firms.
SyndicateRoom notes that Angel Academe’s track record includes multiple successful investors generating significant returns.
Sarah Turner, co-founder and CEO of Angel Academe, says:
“Just as we were the first UK angel network to specifically invest in female founders, we are proud to be the first to launch an EIS fund focused on female founders.”
