OurCrowd Updates on “Fast Growing” Funds Business, Adds New Head of Funds

OurCrowd, a top securities crowdfunding platform, has distributed an update on its “fast-growing” funds sector, which now reports that fund assets will top $1 billion next year.

Currently, there are approximately $800 million in assets in the Funds Division across four types of funds. These include:

  • Externally-Led GP Funds – OurCrowd states that it has raised $237 million, investing in 30 venture capital funds, led by external independent GPs including well-known firms such as Blumberg Capital, Glilot+, 10D, F2 Capital, Tech Aviv, USVP, Proof, Maniv Mobility, Draper, Rebel, Soma Capital, and more.
  • Internally-Led GP Funds – OurCrowd currently raises funds for specific sectors (AI, Cybersecurity, Foodtech, etc.), diversified portfolio and Index funds like OC50, as well as, bi-national funds, the Israel Resilience Fund and more. In this area, OurCrowd has raised to date $420 million across 21 funds.
  • Alternative Investment Funds – OurCrowd says it has raised almost $60 million across seven funds, including Arrow Capital, New Mountain Capital, Upper90, and more, for investment in Private Equity, Venture Debt, and Venture Credit funds.
  • Co-investments – OurCrowd partners with external venture capital funds in co-investments. OurCrowd reports that it has co-invested $144 million in 75 companies across 96 rounds with its venture capital partners alongside leading investors such as Andreessen Horowitz and Sequoia.

As fund activity increases, OurCrowd has appointed a new Head of Funds, OC Partner Or Alon. He will now become the dedicated manager of this business. The Funds Division has emerged as a key component in the OurCrowd Platform, alongside direct investment activities in startups via SPVs (Special Purpose Vehicles), which now number 460 companies and $1.5 billion in assets.

Alon joined OurCrowd in 2021, first serving as VP responsible for Venture Lending and later overseeing alternative investments. Before joining OurCrowd, Alon served as VP at Silicon Valley Bank’s Israel branch.

Jon Medved, founder and CEO of OurCrowd, said the investments in funds have grown and show tremendous growth potential.

“Or Alon will now oversee all $800 million in assets, and our goal is to expand this to approximately $1 billion by end of 2025. With direct startup investments, we expect to reach a total of $2.5 billion in commitments by the end of 2025.  I have no doubt that Or’s extensive experience and capabilities will drive the growth of this sector, which will play an increasingly significant role in OurCrowd’s operations.”

OurCrowd has repeatedly been named Israel’s most active venture capital investor by Startup Nation Central and KPMG. A recent report credited OurCrowd with 65 new investments, more than three times its nearest competitor.

OurCrowd enables smaller (accredited) investors to access prominent venture investments. The online investment platform says it has raised $2.3 billion to date from 240,000 investors in 195 countries.
