UK-based Banking Group NatWest’s Online Business Bank, Mettle, to Offer FreeAgent’s Accounting Software for Free

UK-based banking group NatWest‘s online business services bank, Mettle, will be providing free access to FreeAgent’s cloud-powered accounting software

The software should help freelancers, sole traders and small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with handling their accounting work.

Companies that sign up to connect their FreeAgent and Mettle accounts will be able to save around £150 per year, which is the annual cost of FreeAgent’s basic subscription package.

Mettle’s new and existing users will be able to sign up to FreeAgent directly via the company’s app at no extra cost. The registration process can be completed within seconds.

Transactions can be carried out between the two apps instantly, by using the latest API technology.

This latest offer complements the UK banking group’s program for SMBs following the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak,

Natwest has been taking part in the UK government’s Coronavirus Business Interruption Scheme. The company has also introduced a £5 billion package of working capital in order to  support small businesses that might need access to funding during these challenging times.

NatWest recently announced that it would continue to offer support to SME customers by waiving monthly hire fees for Point-of-Sale terminals from its payments product Tyl until the end of this year in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

NatWest also confirmed that it would be offering next-day settlement to users of Tyl, helping with cash flow during this difficult period for SMBs.

Tyl allows small companies to accept chip and PIN, contactless and telephony payments at in-store or off-premises locations via a mobile terminal. The options provide flexibility and choice, during a period where many SMEs are opting for telephone orders and delivery in order to prevent the further spread of the Coronavirus.
