Mongoose Energy Launches Crowdfunding Platform For Community Energy Projects Using ShareIn Technology & Compliance Solution

Mongoose Energy announced on Thursday the launch of its new crowdfunding platform for community energy projects, Monogoose Crowd. According to the energy firm, Mongoose Crowd will be an appointed representative of ShareIn and is using SharIn’s technology and compliance solution.

Mongoose Energy has reportedly raised funds for community projects through third-party platforms in the past. It’s first offer, Bath & West Community Energy, was through ShareIn and sought to raise funds to re-finance first set of Solar PV projects on a range of schools and community buildings. Jude Cook, CEO and Co-founder of ShareIn, stated:

“Mongoose Energy has been at the forefront of community ownership for renewable energy projects. We are delighted to work with them on the launch of Mongoose Crowd.  Using our technology to ensure more renewable energy projects in the UK get funded is something we’re proud to be a part of.”

Mark Kenber, CEO of Mongoose Energy, added:

“Thousands of UK investors are looking at alternative finance and keen to support clean community energy. Our new crowdfunding platform helps make investments in clean community energy easier, more profitable and more democratic. Hosting our own crowdfunding platform will make it easier to innovate and grow”.

ShareIn, formed in 2011 by Cook and Andrew Pickett, supports capital raising initiatives in the UK with FCA compliant software services. ShareIn is one of the founding members of the UK Crowdfunding Association.
