Brief: Kickstarter Alum Fuel 3D Announces New 3D Scanning Products at CES 2016

On Wednesday, 3D startup Fuel3D announced that it will be showing several key developments from its R&D activities at CES 2016.

Fuel3DAt the event, Fuel3D is set to show some of its new developments and showcase its scanning platform for a variety of potential applications. The products are the following: 

  •  A 360-degree head scanning system that has potential applications in visual effects creation, custom headgear, gaming or virtual reality.
  • A hand-scanning unit that has potential applications in prosthetics, cosmetics or custom jewelry.
  • New software developments, including cloud-based processing of 3D images, which support the development of web-based 3D scanning applications.

Fuel3DFuel3D is a developer of advanced 3D scanning systems and solutions. Originally developed for the medical imaging sector, the company’s technology has been adapted for the broader 3D market, with the goal of bringing the benefits of point-and-shoot 3D imaging to consumers, professionals and businesses.

Since generating worldwide attention through a successful Kickstarter campaigns for its handheld scanner in 2013, Fuel3D has gone on to raise millions in private investment and sign retail and distribution partners across the world.
