Brief: British Indie Group The 1975 Launches Cadence & Cause Campaign to Provide Clean Drinking Water to Those in Need

artistThe1975British indie rock band, The 1975, have had an intense past two years and have toured almost constantly across the globe to theaters, festivals and TV performances. Now that they’ve settled back into their home in Manchester, they’ve partnered with their label, Dirty Hit Records, to launch a new crowdfunding initiative to provide clean drinking water to those in need.

Teaming up with the newly launched Cadence & Cause platform, this four-piece has graciously donated a first-press of their debut LP on vinyl and a signed photo card. Entries from this sweepstakes will be used to purchase water filters for people who are without access to this basic necessity.

Dirty Hit Records stated:

Water 2“It’s crazy to think that in 2015, there are still millions upon millions of people without access to clean drinking water. It’s something so many of us take for granted on a daily basis, while others are out there traveling miles just to get their daily needs.”

Cadence & Cause is a music platform offering new music to fans while creating charitable contributions. The company partners with the ONEHOPE Foundation to ensure non-profit organizations are legit and operates on a “Give-Get” model. First, artists donate an unreleased song, autographed schwag, or a personal experience like dinner with the band. Next, fans buy music or enter contests at the Cadence and Cause website, and Cadence & Cause fulfills and ships donations.
