Update: TinyWorld Surpasses Goal as Platform Sets Goal of Transforming Language Learning

TinyWorldTinyWorld, the social e-learning platform that wants to innovate the process of learning a second language beat their $50,000 goal on Monday, December 23, 2013.  With less than three days in the campaign on Indiegogo the project has set their stretch goal of hurdling $75,000.  The campaign received significant boosts by some sizable contributions with one backer purchasing the $15,000 reward and another one coming in at the $10,000 level.

Andrew WongAs previously reported, TinyWorld wants to change the way we learn another language and they have developed the platform to accomplish this task.  As we all know the best way to learn a language is to live in the country where it is spoken.  This approach is not always feasible but TinyWorld has created a virtual world for anyone to learn by doing.  The best way to learn a foreign language is to practice it with real people.  They are combining the best of classroom techniques with the ability to interact on a daily, 24/7 basis with native speakers.

Tinyworld connecting the worldThe crowdfunding campaign has received many emails from other countries interested in their product with Portugal and Russia at the top of the list.  The five countries that contributed to the most to their campaign are the United States, Peru, Philippines, Singapore and Netherlands.

The project has been championed by Andrew Wong who was raised in Shanghai and migrated to the United States so he understands the challenge of picking up a new language.  Wong also runs the New York Entrepreneurs Business Network and will be applying his years of experience in building out this startup spending most of his time in 2014 doing so.
