ULI’s 2015 Fall Meeting, set for October 5-8 at the Moscone Center in San Francisco. Headlining the event are keynote speakers Condoleezza Rice, former U.S. Secretary of State; Brian Chesky, CEO and co-Founder of Airbnb; John Stumpf, chairman, president and CEO of Wells Fargo & Company; and California Governor Jerry Brown.
ULI’s annual fall meeting typically draws 6,500 to 7,000 of the world’s foremost real estate experts, all of whom convene to exchange ideas and insights on the “next new thing” for the industry. The 2015 meeting will add new information to a topic we’ve explored for the past couple of years — rethinking urban development for the 21st century in response to demographic, social, economic, environmental, and technology trends. We’ll be placing a particular emphasis on three specific areas: industry leadership; building for change; and creating resilient communities. You’ll get plenty of story ideas and material on game changers that are influencing what’s being built, where it’s being built, and how it’s being financed.
Each day of the meeting will emphasize a separate area of focus – Monday, October 5, will be dedicated to tours of the most creative developments in San Francisco and Silicon Valley; Tuesday, October 6, will emphasize leadership, offering lessons learned from leaders in the real estate industry and beyond; on Wednesday, October 7, the focus will shift to industry trends during the ULI Stan Ross Real Estate Trends Day (featuring the release of the 2016 edition of Emerging Trends in Real Estate®: The Americas, co-published by ULI and PWC.; and Thursday, October 8, has been designated as “real estate deal day,” with opportunities for attendees to explore and initiate development projects.
Throughout the week, you’ll have plenty of opportunities to talk with panelists speaking at more than 40 real estate sessions covering every aspect of real estate, from development following natural disasters to multigenerational housing to “work everywhere” office space to new uses for obsolete retail space.
