UK Budget Statement – London

Chancellor of the Exchequer George Osborne will present the 2016 budget to Parliament.

Parliament is responsible for checking and approving Government spending. Each year the House of Commons authorises taxes and public expenditure which provides the Government with the money it needs to deliver its policies and run vital services in areas such as Health, Education and Defence. Parliament and departmental select committees play a crucial role in this financial scrutiny.
