First Innovative Enterprise Week – Riga

The Latvian team has done much to make the half-year of the Presidency run smoothly, leaving a lasting contribution to the further growth of the European economy. That is why we are arranging this conference with great enthusiasm, anticipating discussions at the highest level on improving investment policy. Naturally, we have also arranged for long, bright and hopefully warm summer evenings and we can promise that the sun will wait until we have completed our intense conference workdays before initiating its beautiful sunset.

ACCESS TO FINANCE FOR RESEARCH, INNOVATION AND SMES 2015

On behalf of the Latvian Presidency of the Council of the European Union, the European Commission, and the local Organising Committee, we are delighted to invite you to Riga.

The conference will bring together high-level policy makers, financial intermediaries and representatives of the research, innovation and business communities.

For three days, we will discuss the European Union’s investment policies and its support for business development and innovation to further improve the standard of living in Europe. At the same time, conference participants will have the opportunity to enjoy the uniqueness and diversity of Latvia’s nature and culture, as well as the hospitality of the Latvian people.

INNOVATION & GROWTH

The First Innovative Enterprise week “Access to Finance for Research, Innovation and SMEs 2015” is a three-day international conference on:

• political answers to the macroeconomic situation;
• ways to boost growth, jobs and competitiveness through innovation, including the Investment Plan for the EU;
• how the financial instruments, facilities and accompanying measures launched under Horizon 2020 can enhance access to finance for research, innovation and SMEs;
• interactions between these financial instruments, COSMEs and European Structural & Investment Funds (ESIF), as well as with instruments at national and local levels.
