Conference: The impact of the CRR and CRD IV on Bank Financing of the Economy – Brussels

Purpose and format of the conference

The conference will be opened by Commissioner Jonathan Hill. His speech will be followed by 3 thematic panels spanning the full range of stakeholder interests: corporates and small businesses, banks, members of the European Parliament, regulatory and supervisory authorities.

The panel discussions will cover:

1. Impact of CRR on lending to corporates, with a particular focus on SME lending
2. Role of banks in infrastructure financing
3. Future challenges from banking regulation: simplification, proportionality and international developments
