Trustly, the global enabler of Pay by Bank, has partnered with Sabre Direct Pay, a division of Sabre Corporation, a travel technology company, to enhance payment solutions for travel agencies across the UK and Europe.
Through its Travel Marketplace, Sabre offers travel retailers access to multi-source content, retailing tools, and financial service solutions.
Sabre Direct Pay goes beyond technology by “combining financial services and premium partnerships to help travel retailers, streamline payments, improve cash flow, and offer transaction options across channels for travel agencies, hotel and airlines.”
Through Sabre Direct Pay, Trustly gains direct access “to a network of travel retailers across the UK and Europe – accelerating adoption of its Pay by Bank solution and reinforcing its position as the provider of secure, card-free payments in a high-volume, fast-moving market.”
The partnership marks a key milestone for Trustly, “aligning with a broader shift in the travel sector towards innovative, account-to-account payment solutions.”
With UK holidaymakers spending 230% more yr-on-year on holidays via Pay by Bank in January alone, Trustly is positioned “to meet growing demand for faster, more secure alternatives to traditional card payments.”
Simon Eve, Trustly’s Vice President of Travel & E-Commerce said:
“We are excited to partner with Sabre and bring our payment technology – as an alternative to cards – to more customers in the travel industry. This will enable Sabre’s network of travel agencies to offer their customers faster, more secure, and cost-effective payment methods.”
Patricio Boccardo, Managing Director of Sabre Direct Pay.
“At Sabre, we’re focused on enhancing the travel booking experience through smart, scalable technology. Partnering with Trustly brings a proven Pay by Bank solution into our ecosystem – giving our agency partners access to a growing consumer trend, and offering travellers a secure, seamless alternative to cards.”
The integration of Trustly’s tech is expected “to roll out in the coming months, with plans to host a webinar later in 2025 to demonstrate the benefits to travel agencies and other industry stakeholders.”
