Just a little over two years after raising £616,170 through its Crowdcube campaign, UK-based restaurant chain, Stem + Glory, is now seeking £400,000 through its new equity crowdfunding campaign on Seedrs. Co-investor of the funding round is the Future Fund.
As previously reported, Stem + Glory was opened in October 2016 and describes itself as a plant-based restaurant chain on a mission to disrupt the restaurant industry by serving plant-based food delicious enough to turn everyone vegan. The restaurant’s team revealed they are on a mission to change the way we view vegan food by offering healthy food, kinder to the environment, with no compromise on flavor.
“Stem + Glory offers the opportunity to invest in a proven and ethical project, right at the start of an emerging market set to grow rapidly over the next 10 years. Stem + Glory founder has spent 35 years immersed in the plant-based scene, and the team have a wealth of experience in the leisure and hospitality sectors, including brands such as The Ministry of Sound and CAMYOGA. We believe there’s huge potential for Stem + Glory within the restaurant sector for accessible, high-quality vegan dining alongside fast-service lunch, brunch, vegan craft beers and fine wines.”
Despite the pandemic, the company stated it has remained optimistic:
“We see post Covid-19 as an exciting opportunty to grow in new ways, and strengthen our business model even further. As plant based living becomes even more and more dominant across the world, we plan to be one of the movements major players.”
Funds from the Seedrs round will be used for the following:
- Development of the online platform, branding & design, app development – 20%
- Capital expenditure – 30%
- PR & Marketing – 20%
- Working capital – 30%
Since its launch, the funding round raised more than £250,000 from 80 investors. It is set to close mid-July.
