India-Based Cryptocurrency Platform Coinome Set to Shutdown

Coinome, an India-based cryptocurrency platform, is reportedly set to shut down on May 15th. The digital currency site revealed the news on Thursday through its Twitter account.

Coinome describes itself as a cryptocurrency platform that was built to offer feature-rich user experience with no compromise on security. The company reported that as a 24×7 exchange, it strives to offer it services without any downtime or delays and allows its users to trade round the clock without any limits on Business Hours or Holidays.

“Coinome is created by Crypto Currency enthusiasts and research experts who have been developing secure payment and banking solutions for nearly a decade. Our vast experience in handling such secure, near real-time transactions have helped us build Coinome as a secure, robust and highly available solution to our customers.”

Coinome’s tweet revealed when the platform would shut down its operations but did not explain why.

According to CoinGeek, the closing of Coinome’s platform follows the closure of several other exchanges in India with a Supreme Court case that is currently pending that could ultimately decide cryptocurrency’s legal fate within the country.
