UK Fintech Paysme Now Seeking £200,000 Through Crowdcube Funding Round

Paysme, a UK-based fintech startup, is now seeking 200,000 through its equity crowdfunding campaign on Crowdcube. Launched in May 2018, the company stated it aims to deliver increase mobile engagement by championing small business owners in their local communities as they help shape the future of mobile payments, commerce, and enterprise.

“Paysme connects small business communities with mobile commerce to help grow their marketplace. We want to increase local engagement through industry-focused apps such as cab:app for taxis, Marketti for market traders & Fanslive for sports clubs to shape the future of mobile commerce for SMEs. cab:app has organically grown a userbase of 11,500 taxi drivers in 90 locations across the UK & Ireland, and has already processed over 1 million mobile payment transactions worth £31m.”

Paysme now has more than 4,000 customers in 90 locations in the UK and Ireland along with a million mobile payment transactions processed worth £31 million.

“Our new app, Fanslive, will connect communities of sports fans & clubs to enhance the overall match day experience with the convenience of in-stadium mobile payments & commerce. Over 32 million fans attend English football matches each season & Premier League revenues grew to £3.6bn.”

The company also noted that in addition to mobile payments, and e-commerce, it will offer its customers deals for ancillary services including insurance, fuel cards, mobile phones, e-banking, loyalty, and rewards. Funds from the equity crowdfunding round will go towards the continuous development of Paysme’s services. Since its launch, the campaign has successfully raised nearly £95,000 from more than 15 investors. It is set to close at the beginning of August.
