Clorox Company Teams Up With DonorsChoose to Launch Back-to-School Match Offer

On Tuesday, cleaning giant Clorox announced in an effort to help teachers get the classroom supplies they need for the upcoming school year, it is set to offer a $150,000 “double your impact” match offer through its partnership with DonorsChoose. This is the second year The Clorox Company has supported DonorsChoose during back-to-school season

Clorox revealed in order to receive a piece of the match offer, teachers must post a request for materials and experiences their students need to learn on the crowdfunding platform. Users simply need to log on and choose a project to fund. By donating to a project with the Clorox match offer, donors can double the impact of their donation. Speaking about the match offer, Charles Best, Founder of DonorsChoose, stated:

“Every year, the average teacher spends over $500 of their own money to help stock their classrooms with supplies their students need to succeed. We’re so grateful for The Clorox Company’s continued support to help teachers create classrooms with limitless learning opportunities.”

In 2016, Clorox funded nearly 800 projects and reached more than 57,300 students. Deb Crandall, Associate Brand Director, The Clorox Company, added:

“As a parent, I know how quickly summer passes by. Just when you adjust to the no-school routine, it’s time to get ready for another school year. The goal we set out with last year, and are still working toward this year, is to make back-to-school preparations for parents and teachers just a little bit easier. We can also help them feel good about shopping for supplies through our partnership with DonorsChoose.org and our receipt validation program.”
