Polygon (MATIC), Enjin (ENJ) Trading Now Available for US, Canada, Australia Residents via Kraken

After digital asset firm Kraken’s listings of Enjin (ENJ) on May 14 and Polygon (MATIC) on May 17 for most jurisdictions, the company is pleased to confirm the availability of Polygon and Enjin trading for US, Canada and Australia residents.

Trading for both assets are now open so you may start purchasing now, the Kraken team noted. ENJ and MATIC trading is “not available for residents of Japan at this time,” the company clarified.

As noted in an update from Kraken, dated July 15, 2021:

“Effective as of July 13, trading is also live for AXS, CHZ, OGN and PERP for most countries.”

(Note: Trading for AXS, CHZ, OGN and PERP is “not available to residents of the USA, Canada, Australia and Japan at this time.”)

Here’s a quick summary of the new digital assets offered via Kraken for trading:

Enjin (ENJ) – Enjin is an Ethereum-powered decentralized application (dApp) developed for the purpose of creating and managing virtual in-game goods and collectables. ENJ, Enjin’s native digital currency, is “central in managing the digital assets on its platform as each in-game item created on Enjin is assigned a value in ENJ.”

Polygon (MATIC) – Polygon is a leading Layer 2 scaling solution for Ethereum that aims “to improve the speed, and reduce the cost and complexities of transactions on its network.” MATIC is the utility token of the Polygon network and is “used for securing the chain through staking, participating in network governance and as a unit of payment for transaction fees on the network.”

Commenting on when users may deposit, trade, and stake these digital assets, Kraken confirmed that funding and trading begins now (as of July 15). Updates will be “posted on the status page.”

Each new asset will be “available for trading in USD, EUR, BTC and GBP,” the announcement noted. (Note: check here for information on how to deposit funds and other details.)

While commenting on which services will be available for ENJ and MATIC, the company noted that Kraken, Kraken Pro, and OTC will be supported but not yet for Kraken Futures or Margin Trading.

The Kraken team also clarified that they do intend to list more assets in the future. However, their policy is “to never reveal any details until shortly before launch – not even which assets we are considering.” As always, the company confirmed that “all of Kraken’s listed tokens are available on our website, and all future tokens will be announced on Kraken’s blog and social media profiles.”

They also noted that their client engagement specialists “cannot answer any questions about which assets we may be listing in the future.”
