NextSeed Adds New Asset Class for Investors: Film

NextSeed, formerly a Reg CF funding portal operating as a bank alternative that has since morphed into a full-stack online capital formation and private equity platform, has added a new asset class to its list of available investments with its first film offering.

Described as a modern-day Deer Hunter, Lonesome Soldier is a feature film about post-traumatic stress (PTS) in the aftermath of combat and the challenges of living with the affliction. NextSeed says this is a first in a series of anticipated “character-driven genre films for a military audience” produced by Military Movies Productions.

The film has already raised $1.38 in equity from investors and now the offering is live on NextSeed.

The Reg CF offering is seeking up to $1 million in capital by pitching equity (Class B Shares) to any investors. If you decide to pony up a minimum of $100 you may be able to receive dividends generated by the film as outlined below.

• 100% of profits to Class B Members (NextSeed Investors are Class B Members) until they have received 120% of capital invested
• 100% of profits to Class C Members until they have received 120% of capital invested, then
• 1/3 of profits to each of Class B, A, and C Members thereafter (NextSeed Investors are included in this)

The film is scheduled to be released about a year from now (September 2021) with production beginning this month (October 2020). The budget has been set at $2.5 million and will be shot in New Mexico and Los Angeles.

Military Movies is said to be in talks with multiple video on demand and streaming companies to distribute Lonesome Soldier.  The plan is to make a big push during the 2021 holiday season with a big initiative around Veterans.

As of today, the offering on NextSeed has raised $32,000 (the low-end hurdle is set at $200,000).
