Austrian Fintech Paysafecash Launches Services in Bulgaria to Enable Online Cash Purchases

Just a few months after launching its services in Latvia, PaySafeCard, an Austria-based fintech that is part of the Paysafe Group, has made its debut in Bulgaria. As previously reported, PaySafeCard claims it has become a global market leader in online prepaid payment methods and part of the portfolio of payment of PaySafeCard, My PaySafeCard, PaySafeCard Mastercard, and PaySafeCash. The company, now available in 28 countries, further noted it is designed for consumers who do not have a bank account or credit card, or who do not wish to disclose sensitive financial data on the internet.

“Available in over 650,000 outlets in nearly 50 countries worldwide, PaySafeCard enables easy and secure online purchases by cash, as payments are made either by using a 16-digit PaySafeCard PIN online or by scanning a Paysafecash Barcode at a Point of Sale. Customers do not need to share sensitive financial data such as bank account or credit card details.”

PaySafeCard further explained that it has been available to Bulgarians since 2013 and the company will leverage the existing Paysafecard distribution partnership with EasyPay, who operates a licensed network of more than 300 payment points. Udo Müller, CEO of Paysafecard – the team behind Paysafecash, went on to add:

“Leveraging our long-standing partnerships with EasyPay in Bulgaria enables us to offer Paysafecash to consumers throughout the country. With strong growth expected in the Bulgarian eCommerce market we are excited to be part of the journey and enable consumers to participate in the world of eCommerce while at the same time meeting the needs of those that do not wish to disclose sensitive financial details on the internet. As our recent Lost in Transaction research shows, more than half of the Bulgarian population would like to shop online more regularly but are afraid of being scammed.”
