Tinkoff Announces Transfers By Phone Number From Foreign Currency & Savings Accounts

Russian banking group Tinkoff announced earlier this week it has added new translation capabilities by phone number in the mobile app. The following options are now available on the Tinkoff platform:

  • Transfers by phone number can now be made from savings accounts, both inside Tinkoff and to other banks
  • Transfer from foreign currency accounts by phone number to any Tinkoff client can be transferred to an account in the same currency

Tinkoff noted that key changes with the capabilities do include transfers from a savings account to a card of another bank through Tinkoff services reduce the free limit of such transfers provided for by the debit card tariff plan. Also, when transferring from a savings account, a commission is charged from the cash balance in the savings account.

Launched in 2006, Tinkoff Bank claims to be the world’s largest independent digital bank by customer base, is part of London-listed TCS Group Holding PLC, Russia’s innovative provider of online retail financial services through its high-tech branchless platform.
