U.S. Insurtech Branch Announces Launch in Texas

Branch, a U.S.-based insurtech startup, announced on Monday it has launched in Texas. The launch notably marks the company’s fifth expansion since launching in August 2019. As previously reported, Branch “taps” into the power of community to make insurance accessible and affordable for everyone, utilizing technology to make it easier to save money by bundling home and auto insurance within seconds.

“At Branch, we think insurance has forgotten why it exists—a force for communal good. We’re restoring insurance back to its original role. We’re getting back to getting each other’s back.”

Speaking about the expansion, Branch Co-Founder and CEO, Steve Lekas, stated that he and his team are excited to help Texans save by bundling both their home and auto insurance “easily.” He further noted:

“Our mission is to make high quality insurance less expensive through the power of technology and community, so that all of us can be insured.”

The launch in Texas comes just weeks after Branch announced it will be giving back 15% of monthly insurance premiums to its auto policyholders in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. According to Branch, the compassionate initiative recognizes clients’ reduced driving due to shelter in place orders in effect and works to ease the financial burden many are facing across the country.

“This credit will apply to auto policies in effect during April and May and will be offered in unique options. Policyholders will be able to receive this credit themselves or help someone that is struggling financially, through the Branch nonprofit entity SafetyNest.”
