Revolut Now Allows in App Donations to Médecins Sans Frontières

Digital bank Revolut has announced a partnership with Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF) (Doctors without Borders) to provide support for communities affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Revolut customers in EEA countries will be able to donate via an in-app feature to help people in need during the Coronavirus crisis.

Revolut says that MSF medical teams are working around the world, alongside healthcare staff, to fight the pandemic. Since 1971, MSF has treated hundreds of thousands of people battling many different health crises.

Revolut founder and CEO Nik Storonsky said that during these turbulent times it is encouraging to see a massive wave of solidarity in support of those most in need:

“We’re thankful that we could set up the partnership with Médecins Sans Frontières  in a matter of days in order to help those who are affected, and look forward to working together to provide as much support as possible.“

Vickie Hawkins, Executive Director at MSF UK, said they were grateful for the support of Revolut during the Coronavirus crisis.

Revolut customers across EEA countries may donate via the Donations feature, which allows all users to round up their card payments and donate the difference to charity. Customers can also donate by setting up a recurring payment or making one-off donations.

Revolut noted that 100% of the amount donated by customers goes to MSF, with Revolut charging no fees to donate. There is no minimum donation amount and the feature can be turned on and off by customers at any time.
