Online Payments Company Skrill to Now Offer Free Services to SMEs Providing Products or Services to Support Communities During COVID-19 Pandemic

Online payments company Skrill announced on Wednesday it is now offering its wallet and Quick Checkout solution free of charge to the many small to medium-sized businesses (SMEs) around the world that are providing products or services supporting communities during the COVID-19 pandemic.  According to Skill, the offer will particularly support the small businesses which have had to digitize their companies for the first time at speed.

Lorenzo Pellegrino, CEO of Skrill, NETELLER and Income Access at specialized payments platform Paysafe, further explained he and his team are looking to help ease the “immense pressure” businesses supporting communities are experiencing at this time and they are supporting the businesses from behind the scenes.

The new offer comes just a few weeks after Skrill announced it was dropping all fees and foreign exchange charges for those using its Skill Money Transfer service to send funds to Italy due to the current COVID-19 outbreak in the country. Along with the transfer fee drops, there will also be no charges for recipients in Italy. Cases of the coronavirus have reportedly topped more than 950,000 globally.
