COVID-19 Prevention Campaign: IT Firms in the Netherlands Launch “Tech Against Corona” Project, Leverages DLT

A group of companies based in the Netherlands have introduced the “Tech against Corona” project.

Firms taking part in the initiative will provide the latest technology and expertise to the Dutch government so that it may be used to combat the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak.

Tymlez, a Netherlands-based blockchain company, is among many other distributed ledger technology (DLT)-focused firms that are providing their services at no cost to the government in the European country.

Tymlez’ DLT-enabled platform aims to bring greater transparency to the medical supply chain.

The company has provided its blockchain-based platform so that it may be used to “model the medical goods ecosystem” which will help “match supply and demand.”

Tymlez’ DLT-powered platform will aim to enhance transparency across the supply chain. It will try to prevent harmful and manipulative activities, including price gouging, during the coronavirus outbreak.

Cybersecurity firm Cybersprint will reportedly be offering security services to hospitals, and information security firm, Taxion will provide online systems that will help volunteer workers with organizing and managing their relief activities. Compumatica, an IT firm, will be enhancing the internet connections of workers who provide critical services during these challenging times.

Netherlands-based telecom firm, KPN, will be teaming up with tech giant Microsoft in order to offer reliable computer systems as part of the project.

The Red Cross in the Netherlands has been taking Bitcoin (BTC) donations in order to combat the coronavirus pandemic. The charitable organization is accepting contributions made using the pseudonymous cryptocurrency through its official website (only).

Meanwhile, the Italian Red Cross has managed to raise approximately $20,000 in Bitcoin, which will be used to buy critical medical supplies.
