The GP Service, an online service dedicated to helping patients see their doctor online at their own convenience, is set to close its equity crowdfunding campaign on Crowdcube with more than £825,000 in funding raise from nearly 445 investors. The company launched the funding round earlier this morning with a mission to raise £750,000 in funding. As previously reported, The GP Service is described as a provider of online services for general medical consultations and prescriptions backed by private equity house Maven Capital. The platform’s full description reads:

“The GP Service allows patients to see a UK based doctor online at their own convenience, with no queues or waiting rooms. We believe The company is one of the safest Online Doctor Provider’s on the market having recently partnered with NHS Digital to secure access to the patient’s medical record during the consultation.”

The GP Service also provides prescriptions, fit/sick notes and advice for most common everyday ailments. The platform’s patients have access with their smartphone, tablet or laptop. The platform also offers access to its service from within pharmacies nationwide and has already installed its solution in more than 180 locations within the consultation room of each of the pharmacies.

Funds from the Crowdcube will be used to continue the growth and development of the GP Service platform. The GP Service is now offering 7.07% in equity at a £10 million pre-money valuation. It is set to close on Monday.
