Innovate Finance has decided to cancel its annual event, IFGS, the flagship event of UK Fintech Week. IFGS was scheduled to take place on April 20-21 at Guildhall, London.
Innovate Finance joins a growing list of events and conferences that have been canceled or postponed due to the rapid spread of the Coronavirus or COVID-19.
Innovate Finance said the travel restrictions imposed by many firms had made it difficult for speakers and others to participate in the event. The group said, “it is hard to express our disappointment that IFGS will no longer take place.”
Innovate Finance said that it is planning to support the UK Fintech ecosystem during the week by distributing digital content, holding virtual and smaller events.
“We will be releasing a schedule of activity over the coming days and weeks, so please do keep an eye out on the UK FinTech Week website for updates and information on how to register. In turn, please get in touch if you would like to submit digital content. ”
Innovate Finance said that next year’s event is already on the calendar, scheduled to take place on Monday 19th and Tuesday 20th April 2021 at the Guildhall, London.
It was not immediately clear how many other events affiliated with UK Fintech Week had also been canceled or postponed.
