Digital Banking: Starling Bank Recognized as Best British Bank, Other Fintechs Receive Awards

Starling Bank, a digital-only bank, has been voted ‘Best British Bank’ for a third consecutive year at the British Bank Awards.

Other Fintechs were on the list too. Revolut, another digital bank, was recognized as the “Innovation of the Year.”

Monzo was noted as offering the “Best Banking App.” Zopa received the award for the “Best Personal Loan Provider.”

“Best Investments Provider” went to Wealthify with WiseAlpha receiving a “Highly Commended” in the category.

According to a note from Starling, over 40,000 individuals voted during the award process.

Anne Boden, CEO and founder of Starling Bank commented on the recognition:

“Our continued focus on the customer is what drives us and we’re proud to once again be recognised as the best British bank across current and business accounts. We are committed to giving people flexible, easy banking that gives them more control over their money and we will keep improving the services that set us apart, such as our marketplace and competitive foreign currency rates.”

Starling recently raised £60 million from its existing investors, Merian Global Investors and JTC, to help boost its growth. The digital bank has now opened 1.3 million accounts.
