McDonalds Hiring Director of Global Cashless & Digital Payments/Fraud at Chicago Headquarters

Fast-food giant McDonalds (NYSE: MCD) is hiring a Director of Global Cashless & Digital Payments/Fraud to work in its Global Cashless and Fraud team at company headquarters in Chicago.

The team’s primary goals, according to the job posting, are to:

1) “Act as a center of excellence to global stakeholders on cashless payments and fraud mitigation.”

2) “Protect income and enhance cost savings with cashless/fraud partners.”

c) “Support the execution of the payments strategy and industry best practices within the organization by advising on costs, network compliance, fraud risk, technologies and overall best practices.”

The new director will provide, “thought leadership and global direction to the U.S. Business and McDonald’s Segments regarding all forms of existing and future cashless and fraud mitigation initiatives including traditional F2F and e/m-commerce environments.”

They will also manage, “the strategic relationships and underlying contracts with our global partners within the payments & fraud ecosystem.”

The director will also, “Analyze financial and transactional data to provide program reporting to senior management including program volumes, costs, key statistics, and partner revenues…”

They will also, “evaluate business opportunities for launch and growth of cashless programs…(and) Support worldwide effort to develop and optimize digital payment solutions (credit/debit/gift) across every facet of our interactions with customers…(including) mobile or non-traditional personal payment devices, web commerce, self-order kiosk and other emerging innovative consumer experience opportunities around payment.”

In December, payments platform provider Adyen (AMS: Adyen) announced it had cut a deal with McDonalds, “to make Adyen’s payments platform available to McDonald’s markets globally, beginning with the U.K. early next year.”

Adyen says it maintains 21 offices and a workforce of 1000 and has processed €159 billion in payments since 2018.

Adyen’s new COO claims the company is, “…the only truly unified, tech focused, payments platform,” and said in the announcement that Adyen is, “thrilled to enter into this agreement with McDonald’s to support their in-app payments.”

According to the company, Adyen’s, “single platform brings simplicity and scalability through one integration so food and beverage brands have a consistent customer experience everywhere they operate. In addition to making it easier to add new stores, markets, or regions, Adyen offers support for preferred payment methods as well a single data view and customer insights.”
