1854 Media Returns to Crowdcube; Now Seeking a Minimum of £300,000 in Funding

Less than two years after securing more than £400,000 through its previous Crowdcube campaign, 1854 Media, a digital media business, has returned to the equity crowdfunding platform to raise a minimum of £300,000 in funding. 

As previously reported, 1854 Media has been dedicated to photography for more than 160 years and claims it has become one of the most influential photography magazines in the world. Since its management buyout in 2013, the publication reported has generated over £1 million revenue along with redesigned prints, growing subscriber base, and over 650,000 social media followers. 1854 Media stated it exists to:

  • Curate photography for millions of arts & culture lovers and creators
  • Provide platforms to help photographers succeed
  • Create standout visual content for brands

The publication also reported that it has also won various awards, including PPA Publishing Innovator of the Year in 2013, Digital Publisher of the Year in 2013 and 2014. 1854 Media’s team also noted:

Funds from the latest Crowdcube round will be used to continue the growth and development of 1854 Media. Since its launch, the campaign has raised more than £200,000 from 180 investors. It is set to close mid-January.
