Perkins Coie Boosts Blockchain Bench with Addition of John Delaney as a Partner

Perkins Coie has added to its tech and blockchain team with the addition of John Delaney as a partner in the New York City office. Delaney joins the firm’s Technology Transactions & Privacy (TTP) practice. Perkins Coie said Delany is the fifth lateral to join the office in the past 12 months as the firm focuses its efforts on the tech sector.

The attorneys in TTP practice represent emerging technology companies, hospitals and health systems, financial services firms, retailers, manufacturers, and other businesses in connection with transactions across the tech sector. This includes payments, virtual currencies, blockchain related services and more

Delany previously served as the co-chair of the Media practice and former co-chair of the Technology Transaction practice at Morrison & Foerster.

Marcelo Halpern, Firmwide Co-Chair of Perkins Coie’s TTP practice, said that as their tech clients establish their respective East Coast headquarters in New York’s Silicon Alley, they continue adding to the depth of tech advisory services for which Perkins Coie has long been known.

“John is a prominent authority in the areas of tech transactions, intellectual property, and social and digital media law, and he will further bolster our ability to provide seamless, high-level service to technology clients throughout their life cycle – from cradle through IPO and beyond,” stated Halpern. “John will also add additional depth to our growing technology practice servicing industrial, financial services, media and product companies.”
