Blockchain Charity Foundation Hosts “Blockchain for Social Good” Event at UN Headquarters in NYC

Blockchain Charity Foundation (BCF), Finance Center for South-South Cooperation (FCSSC) and Women Political Leaders Global Forum (WPL), have joined to host a blockchain focused summit to be held at the United Nations on September 24th.  This summit, entitled “Blockchain for Social Good: Utilizing Blockchain to Aid Economic Development,” will be held in conjunction with the 73rd UN General Assembly (UNGA 73) at the United Nations headquarters in New York City. The summit seeks to discuss topics where distributed ledger technology can boost economic growth while benefitting underserved sectors of the population.

The summit will include a keynote address by President of Malta Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca, as well as a roundtable discussion and showcase of global blockchain pilot programs. Malta has positioned itself as a jurisdiction of preference when it comes to blockchain entrepreneurship. The Blockchain Charity Foundation is an entity that was jointly created by Binance, a leading crypto exchange, and the government of Malta.

Helen Hai, UNIDO Goodwill Ambassador and Head of Blockchain Charity Foundation, says BCF firmly believes that blockchain will transform the world by adding transparency, accountability and efficiency. These improvements will help to reduce global poverty while boosting growth and job creation;

“BCF is delighted to work with international organizations and industry leaders to embark on this new journey together.”

Silvana Koch-Mehrin, Founder & President of the Women Political Leaders Global Forum, added they believe tech and digitalisation can greatly benefit society.
