onewomanowner, a new used car sales website, has successfully secured its initial 300,000 funding target through equity crowdfunding platform Crowdcube. The funding round was launched earlier this month and is nearing 325,000 thanks to more than 100 investors. As previously reported, onewomanowner stated it is aiming to become the number one online portal for used cars that have previously had women drivers. The company revealed:
“There is a reason why people advertise their cars using the One Woman Owner slogan. Once established as the go-to platform for buying and selling female-owned cars, we aim to secure a significant share of this multi-billion pound industry in the UK, which continues to show growth year on year. With our new USP in this profitable industry, an experienced team with a proven track record of success we believe onewomanowner.com will have a strong competitive edge against our rivals.”
Speaking about the success of the Crowdcube campaign so far, the onewomancar team stated:
“Our detractors may claim that it’s not a race, but that’s always been the mantra of second place finishers. We have smashed our target, knocked it out of the park, and wolfed down the lunch of the competition. The only question you should be asking yourself is whether you believed in our proposition or you simply passed it on by. For the ever-faithful out there, this is the first step on the journey. We are working on developing the national brand. Our much-vaunted marketing campaign is swinging into glorious action and there may even be some whispers in the background about a special brand-spokesperson we are getting on-board.”
All funds from the Crowdcube round will be used to launch marketing campaigns to increase its reach, audience and potential business opportunities. The campaign is currently set to close mid-April.
