Former President Obama Staffer Launches GoFundMe Campaign For Moore Accuser Whose House Burned Down

Following the devastating fire that destroyed the house of Roy Moore accuser, Tina Johnson, former President Obama staff member Katie Jacobs Stanton has launched a GoFundMe campaign seeking funds to help Johnson rebuild her home. Johnson was among the three women who accused Moore of sexual assault when they were aged 14, 16, and 28. The campaign’s description reads:

“I don’t know Tina Johnson. But I believe her. Tina Johnson shared a story about being sexually harassed by Roy Moore. It has always been dangerous and risky for women (and men) to speak out against sexual harassment. Today, this danger reached a disturbing level. Tina’s home burned down and she lost everything. An arson investigation is currently underway.”

Stanton noted that the situation is very upsetting and commented:

“I haven’t set up a GoFundMe but inspired to do so today. If anyone knows how to reach Ms. Johnson to let her know help is on the way, let me know.”

Stanton explained that 100% of the campaign’s funds will be used to help Johnson rebuild her home. She added:

“Money won’t erase what happened, but I truly hope it will help. GoFundMe will keep funds raised safe in their system until we work with Tina on withdrawing them.”

Stanton also revealed in the latest update that she and Johnson are currently in touch. Since its launch earlier today, the campaign has successfully secured its initial $40,000 funding target from more than 1300 supporters. Stanton added that the campaign will remain open and she will increase the goal a few more times.
