HM Treasury Confirms International Fintech Conference for March 2018

HM Treasury will host their second International Fintech Conference following the success of the inaugural event in 2017. Scheduled to be held in London on March 22, 2018, the event will highlight the UKs standout Fintech innovators as well as up and coming Fintech firms from around the world. The conference will occur during UK Fintech Week 2018 which kicks off with Innovate Finance’s Global Summit.

In 2017, over 100 of the UK’s leading Fintech firms were selected to join the world’s biggest international investors in London for the UK’s first conference. Keynote speakers included Philip Hammond, Chancellor of the Exchequer, and Mark Carney, Governor of the Bank of England, and other global industry leaders.

2018 is expected to be another successful venture bringing together some of the biggest names in Fintech.

The UK has recognized the strategic importance of Fintech to its economic position. The UK Fintech sector contributes £6.6 billion annually to the UK economy, and employs over 60,000 people across 1,600 companies. In the first three quarters of this year the sector received a record £2.1 billion investment.
