Fintech Collaboration Platform B-Hive Launches Hub in New York City

Fintech collaboration platform B-Hive recently announced the launch of its hub in New York City. According to B-Hive, the new hub aims to build a bridge between Europe and the Americas. Working with American-based players as well as EU-based participants makes our partners and members stronger through collaboration and further innovation. Fabian Vandenreydt, Executive Chairman of B-Hive, stated:

“New York is the heart of American financial services. And Brussels boasts a vibrant European financial center, as it is a historically strong place for market infrastructure players, insurers and banks. Even today, with many EU institutions housed in Brussels, having that close proximity facilitates open dialogue and encourages further innovation and collaboration in the EU. B-Hive is thrilled to facilitate this bridge between the two regions, as it is important to collaborate in this industry and further foster internationalization in the tech-for-fin ecosystems.”

B-Hive also hosted its launch event at the BNY Mellon offices in New York City’s Financial District. Matt Joseph, Head of the BNY Mellon Jersey City Innovation Center, added:

“We are excited to work together with dynamic groups like the B-Hive community that share the same goal we do- to help drive innovation and digitization in the financial services industry.  BNY Mellon strongly believes in partnerships and collaboration, and we look forward to teaming up on creating new opportunities and developing solutions that meet client needs. We are a proud member of the B-Hive community and are happy to celebrate their Transatlantic movement in helping to foster creativity between the growing European and American members.”

As previously reported, B-Hive is the successor of Eggsplore, founded by Jurgen Ingels and with Wim De Waele as CEO, a fintech platform in which some major banks, insurers, and market infrastructure players started working together on common innovation challenges and building bridges to the start-up and scale-up community. B-Hive builds further on Eggsplore, with support from the Belgian government – using the federal investment fund – and some other additional partners. Users on B-Hive can do the following:

  • Meet and explore the opportunities offered by digital transformation
  • Jointly promote their digital platform know-how
  • Provide the key elements of infrastructure, funding, and education
  • Attract technology companies to use Brussels as a gateway to the European market
  • Collaborate with broader initiatives supporting the start-up community
