UK Football Travel Startup Homefans Seeks £100,000 on Crowdcube

Football travel experience brand, Homefans, has launched an equity crowdfunding campaign on Crowdcube. The company is now seeking 100,000 through the funding round as it prepares to expand its services.

Founder Luke Verbeek launched Homefans after traveling years to watch football in the UK and he noticed there was a gap in the market for the new group trips in Europe. The company is already collaborating directly with football clubs, aims to change the way fans experience football in the UK and Europe. While sharing details about the Homefans service, Verbeek stated:

“If you look at the match day experience of an average fan, they don’t experience the local football culture, connect with the locals and mostly come across as tourists in destinations. We’re not just a provider of a football package, we create unique experiences and bring like-minded fans together to experience football the local way.”

Verbeek also explained that Homefans organizes small group trips to the most exciting matches and football destinations around the world, creating a unique experience for the groups. Homefans’ first trips of the season were sold out in no time with travelers coming from 6 different countries across Europe to experience football at its best.

“At Homefans, we want to show that there is indeed a better way of experiencing football, by offering experiences that are accessible: Travelers go to pub nights, meet local fans or even play a 5-a-side at the club’s training pitch. It’s all about creating unforgettable memories whilst being part of a community of like-minded fans.”

In the past 10 months, the company has achieved the following:

  • More Than £40K revenue
  • Over 240 travelers
  • Gained 2 strong partnerships and built relationships with clubs and travel operators
  • Over 12,000 social media reach

Homefans managed to reach 48% of their target within 48 hours last weekend on Crowdcube. Funds from the Crowdcube campaign will be used to launch new trips, other experiences focused on Sports and grow the Homefans brand. The campaign is set to close mid-October.
