University of Oxford Online Fintech Program Open for Registration

Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, along with online education provider GetSmarter, has launched the Oxford Fintech Program. This is a digital open enrollment program for executives and entrepreneurs addressing financial technology and innovation.

The online program is said to have been designed to equip participants with the ability to identify opportunities for disruption in the financial services sector, and enable financial professionals to both launch new Fintech ventures and harness new technology to build better financial services firms. Participants may earn a certificate of attendance from the University of Oxford by joining this 10 week program

The organizers note that between 2 million and 6 million jobs will be lost over the next decade due to disruptive financial technologies like Artificial Intelligence (AI), blockchain and more. As disruptive firms like digital only challenger banks replace traditional bricks and mortar, it is imperative financial professionals learn and adapt to harness Fintech to build better financial services. The goal is to equip participants with the foundations to participate in these changes, as well as provide resources and support as to how to shape their own Fintech ventures.

The coursework will be lead by Nir Vulkan, an Associate Professor of Business Economics at Saïd Business School and Fellow of Worcester College, both at the University of Oxford, and David Shrier, author, entrepreneur and CEO at Distilled Analytics.

The program starts on 9 October 2017 and participants may expect a time commitment of between 12 to 15 hours each week. If you are interested in learning more you may view the current prospectus below or register online here (cost is £2500).
