Luxury Kids Fashion Brand Benedita Set to Close Crowdcube Round With More Than £155,000 in Funding

London-based luxury kids fashion brand Benedita is set to close its equity crowdfunding campaign on Crowdcube with more than £155,000 from nearly 150 investors. The initiative was launched last month, seeking £125,000 as the company prepares to expand.

As previously reported, Benedita, which was founded byCatarina Pinto Castro, has clothing in more than 20 retail shops in six countries. It was revealed:

We are challenging the children’s wear industry to commit and embrace a more sustainable and ethical approach to fashion fostering families to buy less clothes of better quality, reach untapped designer talent and produce in Portugal both as testament of our quality and as a mean to support local communities.”

Since its launch, Benedita has achieved the following:

  • Exhibiting at some of the top trade fashion shows: Bubble London, ENK Childrens’ Club NY and Playtime Tokyo
  • Growing reputation including high-profile editorials and product placements on Vogue, Tatler, The Telegraph and Earnshaw’s magazine.

Benedita also explained:

We believe in embracing a more sustainable and ethical approach in childrenswear and encourage parents to buy fewer but higher quality clothes for their children. We also aim to leverage technology to reduce waste and have produced all of our goods in Portugal both as a testament to our quality and as a mean to support traditional skills.

Funds will be used for the full collection on our e-commerce to monetise on higher margins, grow wholesale presence at fashion shows and bring a seamless digital experience, and develop a strong digital marketing strategy to create a brand identifiable for its design, inspiring for its values and innovative on the way it operates.
