PicoBrew Announces New Distilling Attachment PicoStill As Pico C Kickstarter Nears $1 Million in Funding

Just two weeks after launching its Pico C Kickstarter campaign, PicoBrew unveiled its latest product, the distilling attachment PicoStill, which is compatible with the company’s Pico countertop brewing appliances and Zymatic professional grade appliance. According to the Seattle-based startup, PicoStill is described as a device topped with a sleek copper distilling coil that fits over the Pico C Keg and can be used to distill hop oil, water, and essential oils. It is now offered as an add-on incentive in PicoBrew’s Pico Model C Kickstarter initiative. Dr. Bill Mitchell, CEO of PicoBrew, stated:

“Since we got started in 2010, PicoBrew has been inventing technologies to make the several thousand years-old process of beer creation easier for professionals and consumers alike. The PicoStill not only empowers small batch brewers to create ingredients like hop oil and essential oils more easily than ever before, but it also gives them the most precise and safest technology to do it with.”

As previously reported, PicoBrew revealed that Pico C builds on the technology created for its big brother, the award-winning Pico Model S but is even easier to use and more affordable.  The company also claimed that Pico C is the easiest way to brew fresh craft beer from breweries around the world or custom craft your brew innovations. Pico C’s features include:

• High-contrast two-line OLED display;
• Brews existing PicoPaks and Freestyle PicoPaks in about 2 hours
• Dishwasher-safe Pico C Keg with a simplified hose connection

Mitchell also reported:

“We’ve spent a significant amount of time listening to our customers who were early adopters of the initial Pico to identify areas where we could streamline and simplify the use of the appliance even further. By making improvements to our hardware with a sleeker design and easier-to-use and clean brewing keg, and by offering a more accessible price point, brewing fresh craft beer at home can be a reality for an even larger number of craft beer enthusiasts. We are excited to offer incentives through our Kickstarter campaign that will allow the earliest backers to secure their own Pico Model C for more than 50% off the retail price, with plenty of other enticing add-ons to choose from.”

PicoBrew is currently selling its Pico C product through the Kickstarter campaign, starting at $279. The company also reported that Pico C will retail for $549 when it hits stores in Fall 2017 and will include the brewing appliance, Pico C Brewing Keg and 5L serving keg. PicoPaks and CO2 carbonation kit will be sold separately. The Pico C Kickstarter is set to run until May 13th.
