Cycling Apparel Brand Vulpine Returns to Crowdcube to Raise £750,000

Less than two years after securing more than £1 million through its first Crowdcube campaign, cycling clothing brand Vulpine has returned to the equity crowdfunding platform seeking £750,000. As previously reported, Vulpine was founded in 2012 by cyclist, Nick Hussey. The company stated it is hoping to change the way cycling clothing is made:

Cycling is changing how we live. From London to Melbourne; Seoul to Munchen. But the clothing has not caught up with the immense growth of cycling worldwide. There’s no need for tight, bright and smelly lycra. Vulpine uses performance fabrics that look casual, cut into classic styles; it’s a durable kit you can wear on and off the bike. Vulpine is a premium lifestyle brand with great customer reviews and have developed a reputation in the industry. We are passionate about inclusivity and getting more people around the world on bikes. We’re determined to normalise cycling and make it a friendlier and a less intimidating activity. Whoever you are; whatever you ride; fast or slow; you’re welcome.

The company also reported its grown 81% in sales this year and 142% in online sales. It has also been showcased at The Design Museum and the V&A, along with being featured in Der Spiegel, Times, Telegraph, Guardian, Independent, Wallpaper, Monocle, Esquire, GQ, Momentum, BBC, High Snobiety, and cycling media. Funds from the campaign will be used for the following:

  • Increased digital and brand marketing across International markets to drive traffic
  • Website optimization to drive conversion.
  • Increased stock availability as currently unable to service demand.

Since its launch, the campaign has successfully secured more than £140,000 from nearly 140 investors. It is set to run until mid-May.
