Vegan Restaurant Plant Power Launches Indiegogo/MicroVenture Equity Offering

Plant Power Fast Food, a California-based restaurant that offers the same much-loved burgers, fries, wraps, and shakes as a regular fast food chain but without animal products, artificial colorings, flavorings, or preservatives, has launched an equity crowdfunding offering through Indiegogo/MicroVenture’s platform.

The company, which launched its first location in Ocean Beach, California in 2016, stated its natural, healthy, plant-based ingredients has attracted more than 1,985 customers per week.  Plant Power’s statement reads:

Life is about choices. Each of us on this beautiful planet has the power to act in ways that have a positive impact on our own life and the lives of those around us.  After all, when you think about it, we’re one giant family even if we all haven’t met each other yet. That’s a big part of what inspired us to create Plant Power Fast Food.  We wanted to share something that might improve the lives of our customers, our employees and the world we share. We believe that one of the most powerful decisions that any of us can make is to decrease the amount of animal products in our diet.

“Most of us already know about the effects of meat and dairy production on our planet:  It’s the single largest contributor to green house gasses and is enormously wasteful of our precious water resources. The consumption of meat and dairy is also now understood to be a key contributor to a rising number of health problems. We feel that there’s a better way, and we’d like to offer you some new choices: burgers, fries, wraps, tacos, salads, shakes, smoothies and other tasty treats made entirely without the use of animal products, GMO’s or artificial ingredients and served to you in 100% biodegradable materials.”

To help make each of its menu items healthy, the company offers the following:

  • Plant Power converts organic plants to traditional fast food, making everything 100% made from plants.
  • The entire menu is cholesterol free
  • All food is 100% GMO-free
  • All burger patties are homemade and are hand-forged daily in-house
  • All sauces are made fresh daily with organic ingredients
  • No high fructose corn syrup, no artificial flavors or ingredients, no hydrogenated oils, and no trans fat are added
  • Offers fresh cut fries
  • Provides soft drinks that are made from organic cane juice and natural flavors

Plant Power is now seeking funds to open a new location in Encinitas, California next month. Both locations are reportedly near San Diego. The campaign is set to close later this spring.
