BrewDog Set to Open First U.S. Pub on February 20th

Crowdfunded brewing company BrewDog announced on Friday it will open its first U.S. pub on Monday, February 20th, in Canal Winchester, a Columbus, Ohio suburb.

As previously reported, BrewDog has raised more than $30 million in its ongoing crowdfunding offers in the UK, called Equity For Punks. The brewery’s USA equity crowdfunding pitch, Equity For Punks USA, has been live for several months on BankRoll and is seeking a raise of up to $50 million under Reg A+. The company also raised £10 million from 2699 investors through its Crowdcube mini bond in December 2016. Following the closing of its mini bond, the BrewDog team shared more details about its U.S. brewery:

Rain, wind, sun and snow – if ever there was a reason for us to embrace Ohio as the spiritual twin of Aberdeenshire, the December weather is it. It’s been a few months since we gave you all an update on how BrewDog USA is progressing in the Discovery City – September in fact, just prior to the very first #PunkAGMUSA. So let’s head over to the US and find out how new arrivals – both people and brewhouse kit – are getting on in their quest to bring fresh BrewDog beer to North America!”

According to the Columbus Dispatch, the new pub, called DogTap, is a 10,000 sqft taproom that will have a restaurant to serve the brew and food. The brewery will feature its very own brew along with some guest brews as well. BrewDog stated that more details, i.e. hours of operations, will be available closer to the pub’s opening day.
