OFIXU Funding Success Continues: Nears £100,000 on Seedrs

OFIXU, which calls itself the “Airbnb for workspaces,” is now nearing £100,000 through its equity crowdfunding campaign on Seedrs.

As previously reported, OFIXU, which was founded in 2014 by Dan Hinden, is seeking to challenge the WeWork model.  Rather than tie clients to a subscription, OFIXU says that it frees them by offering space for even just a day. The company stated:

“OFIXU is building the World’s largest online marketplace allowing hosts of any surplus commercial space (desk, office, floor or entire building) to list and rent out their space to those that need a place to work. OFIXU Lists ALL office types for an individual or company meeting all office needs in any location, globally and allows its users to book any commercial space on one convenient platform for a single day, week, month or year!”

The company also noted they have formed partnerships with Servcorp, Camden Market, Studio Shoreditch, Zipcar, MyBuilder, WorkPad, UberOffice, and Grid 24. Zipcar spokesperson stated:

“We are delighted to announce that Zipcar and OFIXU have teamed up to give members a great offer on joining. Zipcar is the UK’s largest pay as you go car club giving members access to wheels when they want them. OFIXU members can take a Zipcar from as little as £4.75 an hour or a Zipvan from £7.92 an hour (prices include insurance, 60 miles of free fuel, and the congestion charge). All members are eligible for a FREE 1 year Zipcar for business account (normally £99) and a free two hour test drive worth £13.50.”

Funds from the campaign will be used for the following:

  • Hire further sales members to acquire property hosts
  • Increase advertising
  • Expand on social reach with in-house talent
  • Outsource SEO
  • Increase PR team

The campaign is set to close this spring.
