New #FundedClub Member: MyShowcase Closes Successful Crowdcube Initiative

On Friday, multi-brand, multichannel, personal beauty advisory service MyShowcase finished its equity crowdfunding run on Crowdcube and secured £1,036,170 from 396 investors.

myshowcase-3MyShowcase now offers a range of independent UK beauty brands. Stylists give advice and sell to customers via home showcases, 1-2-1 or through social media. Within the past two years, the service provider has grown from 150 to 1,500 stylists, who have held over 10,000 showcases and also placed more than 75,000 orders from 37,000 customers. Founder and CEO of MyShowcase, Nancy Cruickshank, previously shared:

“We’re on a mission at MyShowcase to not only to provide a truly personal beauty advisory service for women, bringing together over 50 of the best independent and curated beauty brands but to also redefine the way women shop and work – something we’re truly passionate about.”

Originally seeking £750,000, Cruickshank revealed that since the campaign raised well over its initial funding target, she and her team are now beginning the expansion of the company’s services. She revealed:

“We’re blown away by the incredible support that we have received from YOU! The members of the Crowdcube and MyShowcase community. Thank you all so much for your support, allowing us to work even harder for all of our new shareholders. So how will we spend this additional investment that we have received? We’ll power forward our growth, to the benefit of every one of our shareholders and the value of your investment. The key additional areas of focus will be investing to further drive Stylist and customer lead generation so as to drive sales.”

Cruickshank also noted that her team is now running smart tests with Facebook and developing new partnerships with media and lifestyle brands. She then added:

myshowcase-1“Additional investment will allows us to launch our Ambassador programme next month (Feb). This programme will enable the most socially connected to access our products and recommend them to their networks (purchases that we can track) in return for free products for customer orders that we receive. We believe that this new proposition will be appealing to those who want to earn beauty for free (by generating referrals) and potentially is a brand new pool of future Stylists, who may decide to turn their passion for beauty into an ongoing income and business.”
