Finland-based Eve Tech closed the Indiegogo campaign for its crowd developed computer, EVE V. The company launched the campaign last month looking to raise $75,000 and quickly secured $500,000 in a matter of hours. It finished its run with a total of $1,416,280 from 4210 backers. The initiative was so popular that Eve Tech revealed it broke the European funding record on Indiegogo.
Eve Tech announced the launch of Eve V comes after it released of its Eve T1 tablet and noted the reason why it created the new tablet is because its team was unsatisfied with most devices that are currently available and decided to open a community for those looking to create an “even better” product, and more than 1,000 users have collaborated online to develop the Eve V. The computer’s features are the following:
- 12 hours of real battery life
- 2736 x1824 IGZO LCD display
- Quad speakers & professional-grade dedicated audio amplifier by TI
- Thunderbolt 3, USB-C and two full-sized USB-A 3.0
- Latest 7th Gen Intel Core CPU
- Durable aluminum unibody
- Detachable laptop-grade keyboard with wireless mode
- No Bloatware, Windows 10 Home or Pro
While comparing the EVE V to other popular tablets (Microsoft’s Surface Pro 4, Asus Transformer 3 Pro, Apple MacBook 12, and Dell XPS 13) that are currently on the market, Eve Tech revealed the following chart:
Following the campaign’s closing, Eve Tech stated:
“Thank you for the ginormous support. We have shown to the world that eve.community is a place of amazing people and flagship products. This campaign is an important milestone of our crowd developed technology crusade. It’s a great time to end the campaign as Christmas is so close. We would like to congratulate Hyper early bird and limited bird Backer that managed to get V during this record breaking campaign. We congratulate you because we will not be opening sales of the V before Hyper early birds are shipped! So you are true early birds.”
The company promised backers it would continue to keep them updated every step of the way. Estimated delivery for the EVE V is set for April 2017.
