On Thursday, marketplace lending platform Prosper announced the winners of the 2016 #MyProsperStory Contest, which was dedicated to individuals who have utilized their platform to regain control of their personal finances.
As previously reported, participants of the contest simply emailed a photo with a brief explanation as to how the lending portal helped them in the past, and they are in the running to receive a full loan payoff of up to $35,000. First and second place winners were set to receive $5000 and $2500 respectively to be applied to remaining loan balances. Participants had to be an active borrower from between October 31, 2014, to October 31, 2016. Public voting on Facebook took place from November 21st to 30th.
Sharing details about the participants of this year’s contest, the Prosper team stated:
“We received thousands of creative and unique stories detailing how people took control of their finances. From consolidating credit card debt and budgeting for special occasions, to the tackling unexpected home improvement and medical expenses, we were truly inspired to hear all the different ways a loan through Prosper has helped people to better navigate financial circumstances.”
