I-MOVIX Named First Belgium Company to Raise Funds on Seedrs

I-MOVIX has recently launched a campaign on Seedrs to raise €250,000. The ING-backed tech brand was named the first Belgium company to launch an initiative on Seedrs since the funding portal announced plans to expand into the Belgium, Netherlands and Luxembourg region earlier this summer.

i-movix-4The company, which was launched in 2006 by Laurent Renard, reported it created ultra-slow-motion camera technology with a long list of respected global broadcasters reliant on its technology since launching in 2008 at the Beijing Olympics.  In 2015 I-MOVIX’s technology was used on many of the largest major league sports events worldwide including NBA, Superbowl, UEFA, with a particular focus in Asia, Europe, and The Americas.

Renard stated:

“It’s been my lifelong ambition to run a tech company, a dream that is finally a reality. I’ve been a gadget geek since my childhood when I spent 8 hours a day coding in the 1980s on my then pride and joy, the Commodore 64! I followed a more traditional route as I grew up, spending twenty years in the police force, but finally when I turned forty, with a nudge from my wife, I had the confidence to follow my heart and launch I-MOVIX which had its maiden voyage at the Beijing Olympics, no pressure!”

He also noted:

i-movix-3“Our goal is to develop a brand new integrated solution to be sold at a competitive price so that top-quality super slow motion replays would now be accessible to every sport production and even wider afield, soap-operas, movies and news. We anticipate that this product will enable I-MOVIX to address a larger share of the market, one whose demand can’t be satisfied by existing products because of the unattainable price points.”

Funds from the latest crowdfunding round to make the innovative ultra-motion technology accessible to a wider market of broadcasters. David Mozes, Seedrs’s Regional Manager Benelux added:

i-movix-2“We are delighted to welcome a disruptive tech innovator onto the Seedrs platform. The I-MOVIX team has shown passion and ambition and already have credibility in the Benelux with the backing of global bank ING. I have been very impressed by what I have seen of the early-stage ecosystem in the region. We look forward to Seedrs becoming a key player in financing startup and growth companies across the three countries.”

The campaign is set to close at the beginning of November.
