StartMart Cleveland 3

StartMart Cleveland, an Ohio startup and coworking community, has recently launched a crowdfunding campaign on SeedInvest under the new Reg CF investment crowdfunding rules. The company is currently seeking a minimum of $200,000 and a max of $1 million as it prepares to expand.

StartMart Cleveland 4Launched in 2015, StartMart Cleveland has created a “robust” atmosphere that allows customers to have the flexibility to grow into their workspace, share resources and be part of its business community. Affiliated with the Flashstarts accelerator, the company’s customer base includes small startups, entrepreneurs, freelancers, small service providers, angel investors, and businesses looking for satellite offices. It has also partnered with 16 local colleges/universities.

“Our goal is to be a dynamic entrepreneurship hub connecting business to critical resources. StartMart is transforming Suite #200 of Terminal Tower into a startup hub, similar to Cincinnati’s Cintrifuse or Boston’s ID Building. This hub houses some of our city’s existing startup assets as well as new resources such as ‘StartPods.’ We create an atmosphere where startups are empowered to test, iterate, fail and scale.”

The company currently offers per-person basis membership plans, which are the following:

  • StartMart Cleveland 2Day Pass: 1 Day / Month…………………………….$45 /person
  • Week Pass: 5 Days / Month…………………………..$125 /person
  • Flex Pass: Open Desk Weekdays………………….$200 /person
  • Reserved: Reserved Desk 24x………………………$300 /person
  • Office: Office 24x………………………………….$600
  • Intern / Co-op: ……………………………..$50

StartMart Cleveland founder and CEO, Charles Stack, shared the company plans to open 1 or more satellite offices throughout its region depending on the success of this offering.  Stack believes that “magic happens when customers = shareholders.”

“We anticipate favorable rental rates can be achieved in light of our economic development benefits. Minimum size will be 7,500 sq. ft. and the facilities will be located in high-density mixed-use locations.”

Besides the satellite offices, the company, if it achieves $200,000, plans to use the proceeds for the following:

  • Expand current space
  • Add amenities
  • Marketing

StartMart Cleveland 1If it achieves $1 million, it’ll use the funds for:

  • Contiguous space
  • Launch satellites
  • Marketing
  • Add amenities

The company went on to add that its initial priority is to increase the number of small officers in its space.

While many metropolitan areas have a multitude of options for flexible office arrangements for young companies, Cleveland is a city that currently does not offer many similar options.

Stratifund rates StartMart as a 4 star deal – the highest rating yet for any Reg CF offer.
